Follow the step-by-step instructions provided to submit your Grab Driver application. The registration process is completed online, and our team will guide you through each stage.
Register in 3 Simple Steps
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before registering, make sure you meet the following requirements:
- Malaysian citizen with a blue MyKad
- Between 21 and 69 years old
- Hold a valid Full D or DA driving licence
- Have a smartphone with internet access
- Use an eligible four-door private vehicle
- Vehicle must not exceed 15 years of age
- Must not have been permanently banned or terminated as a Grab Driver-Partner
Applicants must also comply with Malaysia’s e-hailing requirements, including a PSV licence, e-hailing insurance and other applicable vehicle requirements.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documents
Prepare clear photos or copies of the required documents:
- Malaysian MyKad
- Full D or DA driving licence
- Vehicle grant or registration card
- Motor insurance cover note
- Bank account information
- Driver profile photo
The vehicle may be registered under another person’s name, subject to the applicable insurance and authorisation requirements.
Step 3: Submit Your Application
Complete the online registration form and upload all requested documents.
After submission:
- Your information and documents will be reviewed.
- You will receive instructions for the next registration stage.
- Complete the required GrabAcademy training.
- Complete the PSV and regulatory requirements, where applicable.
- Wait for confirmation that your driver account has been activated.
Make sure all information provided is accurate to avoid delays.
E-Hailing Requirements
PSV Licence
A Public Service Vehicle licence under the e-hailing or taxi category is required before you can legally provide e-hailing services.
A medical examination is required as part of the PSV application process.
E-Hailing Insurance
Normal private motor insurance does not automatically cover e-hailing activities.
You must have either:
- Annual e-hailing insurance coverage; or
- Grab Daily Insurance, subject to availability and eligibility.
Your insurance documents must meet the registration requirements before your application can be completed.
Vehicle Inspection and EVP
Vehicles that are three years old or older may require a PUSPAKOM inspection after driver-account activation.
An E-Hailing Vehicle Permit is also required. Grab states that it will apply and pay for the EVP on behalf of eligible driver-partners.
