Grab Driver Vehicle Eligible List And Service Types In Malaysia

There are different types of services on Grab to cater to every passengers’ needs. Each service has its own set of fares as well as requirements to be on that service type; such as the car model, driver’s performance, etc.

Standard (JustGrab)

JustGrab is a fixed-fare on-demand service, which brings together both taxis and cars across Malaysia. This means that a passenger who books a JustGrab will be assigned the nearest vehicle, regardless of whether it is a taxi or a car.

JustGrab is the default service type that all driver-partners in Klang Valley will have when they join the Grab platform.

Eligibility Criteria for JustGrab (GrabCar)

Vehicle Requirements

Vehicles aged less than 15 years based on manufactured date in JPJ Grant.
All vehicle models are accepted for JustGrab unless it is listed in the Rejected Car List above
Pick up truck (Only in East Malaysia)

Driver Requirements

Driver Rating : > 4.5 stars
Cancellation Rate: Minimum
No excessive cancellations/ disciplinary issues
For taxis: must have a valid PSV licence

Standard (6-Seater)

Standard | 6 Seats is an on-demand service that consists of 7-seater cars (including the driver).

Eligibility Criteria for Standard | 6 Seats

Vehicles below 14 years old
6 passenger seats with 6 seat belts
The vehicle must be privately owned by a Malaysian citizen.
No pickup truck/van

Important:

Only driver-partners who meet the vehicle requirements will be added as a Standard | 6 Seats. Service type updates will be performed every Friday. Driver-partners do not need to contact the Help Centre.
All decisions made by Grab are final.

Standard | Plus is a service that offers passengers a comfortable sedan with top-rated driver-partners.

Eligibility Criteria for Standard | Plus

Vehicle Requirements

Manufactured in 2016 and newer
Selected segment B, C and above
Functional seat belts for all seats
The vehicle must be privately owned by a Malaysian citizen
No pickup truck/ van

Driver Requirements

Maintain a driver rating of 4.85 and above
No disciplinary issue(s) / excessive cancellations

Important:

Only driver-partners who meet the requirements above will have Standard | Plus added to their accounts. Service type updates will be performed every Friday. Driver-partners do not need to contact the Help Centre.
The Standard | Plus service type may be removed if driver-partners fail to meet the Standard | Plus service requirements and driver rating criteria. Reinstatement of the service type will only be performed if all requirements are met again. No appeal will be entertained.
All decisions made by Grab are final.

No damages/scratches on both interior and exterior of the vehicle
The vehicle must be privately owned by a Malaysian citizen

Driver Requirement

Maintain a driver rating of 4.85 and above
Currently available in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru & Penang only

Only driver-partners who meet the requirements above will have Premium added to their accounts. Service type updates will be performed every Friday. Driver-partners do not need to contact the Help Centre.
The Premium service type may be removed if driver-partners fail to meet the Premium service requirements and driver rating criteria. Reinstatement of the service type will only be performed if all requirements are met again. No appeal will be entertained.
All decisions made by Grab are final.

Premium | Exec is a service for passengers who want a luxurious experience – luxury cars and specially trained driver-partners who will provide top notch service to passengers.

Eligibility Criteria for Premium | Exec

Vehicle Requirements

Car manufactured in year 2016 and newer
Functional seat belts for all seats
No damages/scratches interior and exterior of the car
All cars are subjected to physical inspection by Grab
The vehicle must be privately owned by a Malaysian citizen

Driver Requirement

Maintain a driver rating of 4.90 and above
Currently available in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru & Penang only

Important:

Only driver-partners who meet the requirements above will be whitelisted for Premium | Exec GrabAcademy training. Service type updates will be performed every Monday based on the training completion status. Driver-partners do not need to contact the Help Centre.
The Premium | Exec service type may be removed if driver-partners fail to meet the Premium | Exec service requirements and driver rating criteria. Reinstatement of the service type will only be performed if all requirements are met again. No appeal will be entertained.

If your car model is NOT listed in the Rejected Models tab, it means it is currently accepted in Grab (E-Hailing) service types.

***In compliance with Malaysia’s E-hailing regulations, only vehicles manufactured less than 15 years will be accepted. However, kindly be informed that vehicles aged 14 years and above will not be able to renew the road tax beyond 15 years.

For example: If your vehicle is 14 years and 5 months when your road tax expires, you can only renew it to 15 years old.
